How do I use my TiVo remote?

There are 2 models of the TiVo® remote provided by Cogeco. Choose your model below.

Good to know: If your new TiVo PVR or TiVo Mini isn’t responding to your remote, press and hold the C and TiVo buttons until the LED on the remote blinks red.

TiVo remote (cartoon TiVo button)

  1. TiVo - Display the main TiVo Central menu
  2. TV Power - Turn your TV on or off (pairing required)
  3. Input - Select the input for your TV (pairing required)
  4. Arrows - Navigate around the TiVo menus and guide
  5. Back - Return to the previous page
  6. Volume - Increase or decrease the volume on your TV or A/V receiver (pairing required)
  7. Guide - Press to display the guide and press again to filter it
  8. Mute - Mute or unmute the volume on your TV or A/V receiver (pairing required)
  9. Thumbs Down - Confirm some menu options
  10. Rewind - Rewind a program (press again for faster speeds)
  11. Pause - Pause a program
  12. Slow Motion - Play a program in slow motion
  13. Instant Replay
    • Press to repeat the last 8 seconds of a program
    • Press and hold to jump to the beginning of a program
    • When rewinding, press to jump to the previous tick mark on the navigation bar
  14. On Demand - Display the On Demand menu
  15. Keypad - Enter numbers
  16. Clear
    • Hide the Info banner or Guide
    • From My Shows or your To Do List, delete the selected program
  17. Live TV - Return to live TV from anywhere else on the TiVo interface
  18. Info - Access additional information about your programs
  19. Zoom
    • While watching a program, change the aspect ratio
    • While in a menu, return to the last program you were watching
  20. Select - Select an option while in a menu, or open the Mini Guide while watching live TV
  21. Channel - Change the channel while watching live TV, or jump to the next page while in the guide or menus
  22. Record - Start recording the show you’re watching, or set up a series recording from the guide
  23. Thumbs Up - Confirm some menu options
  24. Play - Resume a paused program
  25. Fast-Forward - Fast-forward a program (press again for faster speeds)
  26. Advance
    • Press to jump forward 30 seconds in a program
    • Press and hold to jump to the end of a program
    • When fast-forwarding, press to jump to the next tick mark on the navigation bar
  27. A, B, C, D - Sort and filter views
  28. Enter/Last - Go back to the previously watched channel while watching live TV
