If I’m installing my own Home Phone service, can I use any of the phone jacks?
Overview
Since the wiring is different in every home, some outlets might require a special setup or they might not be connected. If you’re performing a self-installation, we recommend simply plugging a phone or cordless base station directly in the Tel 1 port on your modem.
